I Had A Wonderful New Year’s Eve…..I Hope You Did too!

Shrimp, garlic, red potatoes, garlic, baby reds, spicy sausage, garlic, corn on the cob, did I mention garlic? Oh….and all served on Newspapers. How could the evening not be perfect. And it was. I think it was the best New Year’s Eve ever!!

My husband and I were at the beach for twelve days over Christmas and New Year’s and we really couldn’t decide what to do on New Year’s Eve. At that last minute I canceled our dinner reservations at an upscale restaurant and headed to the grocery store. I bought all the ingredients to prepare a shrimp boil and I recommend it for everyone, even if you aren’t at the beach.

Here’s a little sampling of the ingredients:

And of course the newspaper to dump everything on. A couple bouy candles added a fun touch. And the best part…..for clean up you just roll up the newspapers!

After dinner we relaxed and watched a movie, then about 10:00, yes I said 10:00 PM (when I am normally getting ready to snooze) we left for Pier Park in Panama City Beach. It was a beautiful warm evening and we strolled the streets of shops, restaurants and bars listening to the outdoor bands.

We hit Reggae J’s rooftop for some Jamaican music, watched the Beach Ball Drop at Midnight and of course fireworks.

Wonderful cuisine, great entertainment and I got to leave on my jeans, baggy shirt and flip-flops!

I want a repeat of this New Year’s Eve next year!
