Let Flowers Shine
Every styled table starts with a beautiful centerpiece. And for spring, we think the most stunning centerpieces start with flowers. You can use fresh stems or faux flowers. There are some really incredible looking faux flower arrangements that will last all season without any extra effort. If you are using fresh cut flowers, you may need to refresh your centerpiece with new stems after about a week or two.
If you are making a centerpiece, it can be as simple as some blooming stems arranged in a pretty vase. Consider mixing two or three different types of flowers and greenery together such as tulips with hyacinth, or ranunculus with carnations and eucalyptus. Other items to use as accents for your floral centerpiece could include wooden candlesticks, larger figurines or fresh seasonal fruit.

Layer Your Linens
Pretty spring linens on the table bring interest in the form of color, texture and shape. Cotton or linen woven table runners in natural colors look beautiful. Layering linens makes for a beautiful look with lots of depth. Try a wide table runner as a base and then layer a more narrow length of jute over the top of it for a classic, natural look. You can also start with a large tablecloth over the whole table, and then layer a wide table runner down the middle; or add individual placemats or chargers on top.

Set Each Place
There are different ways to create each place setting. You can use placemats, or chargers. For spring we like to use natural materials like woven grass chargers, and placemats that are woven from linen or cotton. There are so many pattern options available to choose from. We like solid natural colors, floral motifs, gingham and french stripes. Choose what style you like best!
Cloth napkins add another element, and there are many beautiful choices. We like wrinkle free cloth napkins, as they are easy to care for and can be washed and reused. Look for napkins woven with at least a percentage of natural fibers. Napkin rings can tie in the colors of your flowers, or they can complement your table linens. While they are not necessary, they add interest and refinement to your table.

Add Light & Bright Dinnerware & Glassware
When adding dinnerware to your table, the best choice for spring is something light and bright. We love the look of classic white or off-white dishes, but you can also use light blues, greens, pinks or yellows, as well as blue and white transfer ware or light pretty floral designs. You can use your every day dishes, and add a single unique element like a scalloped salad plate to add interest and bring in the season. For glassware, we like the light green of recycled glass that is popular now in the stores. Any style of clear glass is always a beautiful choice as well.

Add Vintage or Heirloom Accents
Finally, it is fun to add some vintage or heirloom finishing touches to your table as it brings uniqueness and beauty. Use a passed down family vase or mid-century vintage flower pot for your floral arrangement. Or you can add unique salt and pepper shakers to the table. Use an antique cake plate to present a special dessert, or to display fresh fruit. Add ceramic bunnies or some brass candlesticks.
