Beautiful, stylist-approved Wallpaper to swoon over

With a new year upon us, our team at Rooms With Style has exciting ideas, dreams and goals for our homes. We really love small upgrades that make a big impact. Sometimes, all a room needs to feel refreshed is a new coat of paint on the wall. Another upgrade for the wall that sometimes gets overlooked (but always really shines) is wallpaper.
Wallpaper adds texture and character to a room; and it serves as both art and decor. These days, wallpaper comes in a large array of colors, patterns and materials. Wallpapering a space is relatively easy and budget friendly. You can find traditional, and peel and stick applications for many papers. And no matter the paper you choose, the results are always dramatic! We tend towards paper that adds texture, visual interest and classic charm to a space. We are excited to share some of our favorite beautiful, stylist approved wallpapers.
Textured Grasscloth Wallpaper

We love anything that adds texture to a space because it creates depth and visual interest. Textured wallpaper, like this Grasscloth Geo Seagrass peel and stick wallpaper from West Elm, is a lovely option, thanks to its muted color palette, textured appearance, and a vertical pattern that draws the eye upward. Choosing a textured paper in a solid but bold color, like this Sisal Natural Grasscloth wallpaper from Pottery Barn, will add classic sophistication to your space and would be fantastic choice. Textured wallpapers are also durable and work great for high traffic areas like entryways, hallways and even kitchens.

Traditional & Heritage Inspired Wallpaper

Wallpapers with traditional or heritage inspired prints are very popular right now, and for good reason. They are an elegant, classic choice in home design. Often these papers feature a blue or green color palette on an off-white or cream background, which is a soothing contrast against their detailed flora and fauna themed patterns. We love this kind of paper in a bedroom or nursery, like the pretty blue Scandinavian print pictured above; Scalamandre Linnea by Sandberg.
Below, we like the ambiance of the soothing green nature-inspired print, Oona in Sage Green by Printed Paper. You can add traditional wallpaper wherever you want to create a focal point. It looks so pretty in this laundry room and we could also picture it on an accent wall behind a sofa or on an accent wall in a nursery. Wherever you choose to add traditional papers, you will create a long-lasting and refined aesthetic.

Bold, Vintage Floral Inspired Wallpaper
There are so many gorgeous vintage floral inspired wallpapers to choose from. We love the ones with big, bold designs that verge a little on the modern side. These papers really make a statement and feature beautiful palettes. When choosing a big, bold print, we recommend designing the other details in the room around it, and not the other way around. The room above illustrates this idea: the wallpaper, Callaway by Painted Paper, has been chosen for an accent wall. The rest of the elements in the room (flooring, cabinetry, other walls, decor) are all neutral and minimal to allow the wallpaper to shine.
We really swoon over these vintage-inspired prints that feature moody greens and blues. They look elegant and dramatic, such as the one shown below called Seabrook Stenciled Floral paper. They work fantastically as an accent wall in a dining room, or in a space with limited natural light such as a bathroom or den, where the darker tones can create a cozy and intimate atmosphere.

Modern & Geometric Inspired Wallpaper

We love the visual interest and contemporary feel that modern and geometric papers lend to a space. The clean lines in this Magnolia Home Hunter wallpaper above, give the room a fresh look. Add this paper anywhere you want to create a focal point, such as behind a bed or a desk in an office space. Some geometric wallpapers, with their clean lines and black and white color schemes, can disguise themselves as something completely different. In the kitchen below, this Scandinavian Herringbone wallpaper looks just like ceramic kitchen tile.

Cottage & Farmhouse Inspired Wallpaper

Cottage and farmhouse inspired wallpaper adds pretty detail to a space. Often with smaller-scale prints, these papers look really nice in smaller spaces where you want to make a statement. This Magnolia Home Cross Stitch wallpaper is so quaint behind a desk and it emphasizes the natural, more rustic elements in the room. We really like this farmhouse motif below, printed on a linen textured background from California Wallpaper. It would be compatible in a room such as an entryway or hallway, paired with shiplap or paneled walls. The smaller print would be nice in a powder room as well.
